The Young Republicans’ regular monthly meeting was held Thursday, May 15, at Niko’s Southside
Grill in downtown Chattanooga. Our guest speakers were Joe Dumas and Gregg Juster, who make up two-thirds of the “Back
on Track 08” team of school board candidates. We had a great time getting to know Joe and Gregg and finding out where
they stand on specific issues related to our public school system. We appreciate their willingness to take time out from their
busy campaign schedules.
On Saturday, May 24, the YRs hosted a pancake breakfast fundraiser from 8:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at Wally’s
Restaurant on Ringgold Road in East Ridge. It was a very successful effort as we received support from a total of 10
sponsors and served breakfast to approximately 90-100 guests. I want to take this opportunity to thank
all of you who participated, and especially our sponsors, Congressman Zach Wamp, State Representatives Gerald McCormick, Richard
Floyd, Vince Dean, Jim Cobb, Candidate for State Representative Jim Vincent, Candidates for School Board Joe Dumas and Gregg
Juster, Mayor Mike Steele of East Ridge, and the Chattanooga Pachyderm Club. To view photos from this wonderful event, check
